WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
moveHAPPY deconstructs the complex relationship many of us have between food, exercise and appearance, before putting it all back together in a way that will leave you feeling confident and compassionate towards your body. We’ve designed this workshop help you develop a healthy acceptance of your body and appearance, and to guide you towards creating the sort of healthy lifestyle that feels easy and enjoyable to maintain.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
Living a “healthy lifestyle” means something different to everyone. Deciding you want to “get healthy” but failing to approach it in way that’s right for you, sets you up for a lifelong fight of self-loathing. To save you from this cycle of negativity, we help you cultivate compassionate, kind feelings towards your body before we even start to put shape to what a healthy lifestyle looks like to you. This means you’ll leave the moveHAPPY feel connected to your body. When you feel connected to your body, you’re far more motivated achieve the healthier life you’ve sketched out for yourself.

WHAT’S THE FORMAT?
All of our workshops are split into three parts: discussion, self-awareness exercises, and then planning how you can introduce what you’ve learned, into your life.

During moveHAPPY, we offer a safe space where you can discuss the concept of “healthy”. We  then encourage you to tap into your authentic self and develop your own approach to loving your body, as well as capturing a sense of what healthy looks like to you. Finally, we guide you into developing the practical tools you need to build this improved lifestyle for yourself.

IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
moveHAPPY is right for you if you’re feeling like any of the following:

  • You start a new diet every Monday
  • You don’t feel confident about your body
  • You hide your body from yourself or your partner
  • You hate exercise even though you know “it’s good for you”
  • You sometimes feel like you’re invisible
  • You’re reluctant to leave the house without make-up
  • You feel disappointed with yourself for “letting yourself go”
  • You have a gym membership that you never use, but that you’re too embarrassed to cancel!

WHEN’S THE NEXT WORKSHOP?
moveHAPPY is scheduled to start in January 2017. Until then, we’re teaching elements of moveHAPPY at a Body Confidence pop-up that we’re hosting on 30th October in Printwork’s Kitchen, London. Co-hosting will be Sophie, head trainer from Fitology and Svava, celebrity trainer and founder of The Viking Method.
